Consent Mode v2

We implement Google’s Consent Mode v2. By default, the following are set to denied until you provide consent via our banner:

• ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization
• analytics_storage

You can update your choice anytime by clearing site data in your browser or revisiting the site to trigger the banner again.

What we collect

• Usage data — page views and events (e.g., calculator submissions), via Google Analytics 4 (GA4). IPs may be anonymized per GA settings.
• Advertising data — Google AdSense may set or read cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads (subject to your consent).
• Contact/subscribe data — if you submit our forms, we receive your provided fields (e.g., name, email, message). Messages are routed by email to our inbox.

How we use data

• Operate and improve the site and calculators.
• Measure site performance and aggregated usage patterns.
• Serve, measure, and improve advertising (AdSense).
• Respond to your messages or manage subscriptions, if you opt in.

Third parties

• Google Analytics 4 — analytics. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use Google services.
• Google AdSense — advertising. Our authorized sellers file is available at /ads.txt.
• Email delivery — contact/subscribe forms are emailed to us (e.g., via Resend or a similar provider) solely to deliver your message.

Retention

We retain analytics data according to our GA4 settings and advertising data according to AdSense policies. Contact/subscribe emails are retained as needed to process your request.

Your choices

• Use the consent banner to allow/deny analytics and ads.
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
• Contact us at woody@hometownwebco.com with questions about your data.

Children

CarbonTracker.io is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date and, when appropriate, provide additional notice.
